Sika Sarnafil: Waterproofing Systems

E-mail Print

SARNAFIL offers four different waterproofing systems which employs use of the membrane.

System 1000: Loose-laid System: A loose-laid system, System 1000 is an economical waterproofing solution. Primarily for plaza decks (either on new construction or renovation), the flexibility of the system allows application over wet or irregular substrates in any temperature. The system which is quick and easy to install also minimises expensive surface preparation.

System 2000: Adhered System: System 2000 is an adhered waterproofing system which meets critical performance criteria. The membrane in the system is bonded to the concrete surface with a special low-VOC adhesive. Besides boasting exceptional wind uplift resistance, it provides an excellent surface for any tile system. Suitable for plazas, balconies and terrace applications in high-wind zones, it is useful especially in lobby areas and kitchens.

System 3000: Loose laid with Containment Grid: System 3000 is an ideal choice for applications demanding absolute system integrity with maximum watertight security. It combines the installation advantages of Sarnafil’s loose-laid System 1000 with adhered membrane grid strips (‘waterstops’) for exceptional system integrity. Any potential spread if water below the waterproofing membrane is eliminated since the adhered grid strip acts as a sub-membrane water-stop. System 3000 can be installed economically over existing waterproofing with minimal deck preparation and removal. It is suitable best for plazas, green roofs and in situations where the protection of sensitive equipment and inventory is critical.

System 4001 and 4002: Foundation Waterproofing System:
System 4001 is designed to waterproof foundation walls while System 4002 protects the dull foundation and encapsulates both the vertical walls and horizontal foundation slab. As the looselaid membrane in both systems allow for movement and minor settlement, they are able to accommodate irregular surfaces and various finishes. Easily installed over newly poured concrete without a 28-day curing time, the construction-friendly systems can be installed in any temperature and be left exposed for extended periods of time.
